Marie Curie deserves a monument because she is one of the first ladies to research radioactivity and discovered new elements named Polonium and Radium. Her discoveries also helped many doctors with X-rays and other things like chemotherapy. According to “Planet-Science.com” Curie named polonium, after her home country of Poland, and named radium because it was radioactive. “Biography.com” also states that Marie Curie became the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and the only woman to win the award in two different fields (physics and chemistry). Marie Curie helped lead the world into discovering chemotherapy which helped a lot of cancer patients because without it many more people would die of cancer and not even have a chance to gain their once normal lives back. Curie was a very hard worker. She and her husband worked together to discover new elements, in which it is very hard to do so. In all this information I think Marie Curie is best known for helping doctors with the research of chemotherapy and developing chemotherapy.
