Emma Suddith FBI Hacking The FBI should be able to hack iPhones. Unlocking iPhones. “Cook refused to unlock Farook's phone to help the FBI's investigation of the attack.” Apple should release private information to the FBI when asked because there may be terrorist planning to drop bombs on the United States and we would never know it. If we could access iPhones, there would be a more likely chance to stop the bombing from occurring. Bombing and terrorist are a huge problem in the world and if Apple and other phone businesses would corporate then we could maybe stop people from breaking the law or any other crime in the court systems. The Fourth Amendment. According to Apple “Apple phones have features that protect the privacy of the information on them, and the Fourth Amendment guarantees people this right to privacy.” Even though the fourth Amendment states that we have the privacy to protect our private information on our phones, wouldn’t Americans want a world without bombing? Randall G. Holcombe argues the right to the fourth Amendment after the FBI tries to get software to unlock San Bernardino, California, gunmen, but the Apple company refuses to release any information which could help the investigation further down the road. Apple is doing the wrong thing in this situation because the information in that gunmans phone or any other persons phone could one day cause an outbreak of terrorist bombings and who would be responsible for the FBI not knowing this? Apple. Apple could one day save the world from bombings if they really wanted to, but to Apple it's all about ego to get people to buy their products and believe that hey will protect their privacy. “Horrendous acts” are being committed left and right. According to Authorities in EU countries they “Believe extremist cells have mushroomed across Europe. These groups of fighters are believed to be waiting for orders from their superiors before committing more horrendous acts.” This could be prevented because those people who most likely are awaiting commands to do more “horrendous acts” are waiting via text message and we can prevent this from happening if the FBI had the correct software to access iPhones. The FBI should be able to hack iPhones. Hacking into people’s iPhones could stop terrorist from bombing the world. Although the Fourth Amendment is a huge part of this argument, the bigger problem is how the FBI might handle terrorist, gunman or even anybody that committed a crime. In the end the FBI should be able to hack American's iPhones. |
